1. Reduce waste by choosing reusable products instead of disposables.
2. Buy products with minimal packaging to help reduce waste.
3. Whenever feasible, recycle paper, plastic, newspaper, glass and aluminum cans.
4. If there isn't a recycling program at your workplace, school, or in your community, ask about starting one.
5. Print on both sides of printer and copier paper. Use scrap paper for informal notes or "to do" lists for yourself.
6. Plant a tree. A single tree will absorb approximately one ton of carbon dioxide during its lifetime.
7. Buy organically-grown foods. This is better for you and the earth because no chemicals are going into the soil or water.
8. Use permanent silverware and dishes instead of paper and plastic ones. Not only will you save the earth, you'll save money!
9. Buy in bulk. It ends up being less cost per ounce, and a lot less garbage in the landfill!
10. Use rechargable batteries. They cost more to buy but save you 10 times the original cost and not get thrown in the trash.
11. Consider cloth diapers. You will save a fortune and do a good thing for the planet while you’re at it!
12. Clean your windows and mirrors with vinegar and water instead of chemical products.

Caring for the environment is based on the accumulative power of individual efforts.

Over the course of a lifetime, one person can make a huge difference by being responsible and environmentally conscious.
